2013 All-Section Five List Released

For the third time, Section Five Lacrosse selected first and second team All-Section players. The 2013 first team lists eighteen players and includes the ten All-Americans previously announced."It's always difficult to choose from so many talented players," said Section Five Chairman, Mike Simon. To be nominated each player was required to be selected to their first team all league (except Independent teams).

Although grade and league were not major factors in selection, the lists show the skills that are found throughout the section. Ten Monroe County teams were represented on the lists, with the rest representing Finger Lakes (4), GRALL(3) and Independents (1). Seniors dominated the lists with 26 and there were 12 juniors, 1 sophomore and 1 freshman listed. Distribution among the positions show 13 midfielders, 16 attackmen, 9 defensemen and 2 goalies.

Players were honored on Championship Day with the reading of their names and the presentation of certificates.
