Kevin Curley to Officiate in 2014 World Championships

Western New York will contribute two officials to the Federation of International Lacrosse (FIL) World Championships next year as Kevin Curley of Section V and Chris Clark of Section VI have been named to official in the Denver games.
Out of sixty-six applications, twenty were invited to try out at Goucher College (Baltimore) during the Labor Day weekend. Five were selected to officiate in the "Blue Division" and nine others were selected as potential officials in the "Red Division". Scott MacCaull and Bill Hardy (both from Section III) were selected in the Red Division. They may also serve as alternated for the Blue Division if needed.
Kevin Curley who officiated in the "Red Division in the 2010 championships in Manchester, England has been a senior official in the Genesee Valley Lacrosse Officials Association for many years. He has served in most of the leadership positions, currently as the GVLOA trainer.
Chris Clark is currently the Niagara Frontier Lacrosse Officials Association Class Instructor.
Both Curley and Clark officiated in the most recent NYS Championships, held last spring at St. John Fischer College. Both were selected for the Western Regionals and Curley was selected for the Championships.
The Championships will take place in Denver from July 10-19 next summer. Team USA has selected fifty-two players for their training roster. The roster includes McQuaid Jesuit/Penn State alumnus and Rochester Hall of Famer, Chris Schiller, who a member of the 2010 USA team. The team will look to compete for a record tenth World Title.
