NYC Takes Gold - Western Takes Bronze

ESC New York City beat the previously undefeated team from Hudson Valley, 10-8, to win the 2012 Empire State Cup lacrosse event at Central Square Stadium. The game was tied 3-3 in the first half, but New York City pulled away with four straight goals. Michael Rastivo, who was named the tournament's Most Outstanding Player, led all scorers in the gold medal game with 3g-1a.

Connor Fields scored an overtime game-winner that gave Western the bronze medal as they defeated Long Island, 7-6. Western led 5-0 early in the game, but Long Island came back strong and the game went to overtime. John Januszkiewicz (Orchard Park) led the entire tournament in goals, assists and points with 17g-10a.

In the fifth place game, Gale Thorpe set tournament scoring records with a 6g-5a, to lead Central to a 14-6 win over Adirondack.
