Empire Cup Games Underway

The Empire Cup games are underway at Central Square Stadium (Syracuse) and unlike the Empire State Games that these games replace, after day one New York City and Hudson Valley are in the lead, winning both their games on the opening day.

The Western Team is 1-1 with an opening loss to New York City (10-8) and a win later in the day against Adirondack (11-3). Leading the offense are Timon St. Jude attackman Connor Fields (5g-2a) and Orchard Park attackman John Januszkiewicz (5g-2a).

Western will play three games today.

Coaching the Western is Head Coach Gene Tundo Sr. (Orchard Park) who is assisted by Joe Smith (Canisius) and Gene Tundo Jr.
