2012 All Section Awards Announced

For the second time, Section Five Lacrosse has selected first and second team All-Section players. The 2012 first team lists sixteen players and includes the ten All-Americans previously announced. "Knowing how many to take was the difficult question," says Section Five Chairman, Mike Simon. "There are so many excellent players in the Section." The second team list includes seventeen more players.

Although grade and league were not major factors in selection, the lists show the vast skills that are found throughout the section. Nine Monroe County teams were represented on the lists, with the rest representing Finger Lakes (2), GRALL(3) and Independents (1). Seniors dominated the lists with 23 and there were 6 juniors and 4 sophomores listed. Distribution among the positions show 13 midfielders, 9 attackmen, 8 defensemen and 3 goalies.

Players were honored on Championship Day with the reading of their names and the presentation of certificates.
