Monday: B-H, BK and Whitman Win

Marcus Whitman was an 18-7 winner over Mynderse, Bishop Kearney took a 12-8 victory from Batavia and Bloomfield-Honeoye won an 8-5 game against visiting Midlakes. Clarence of Section 6 held on to their undefeated season with a 9-5 win over Aquinas.

-- Mynderse Academy started off with a 2-0 and then 3-2 at the end the first quarter, but then Marcus Whitman took off scoring six goals in the second quarter and ten more in the second half finishing with an 18-7 win over the visiting Blue Devils.
"Oliver Oswald was a difference maker for us tonight winning 18 face offs," said Marcus Whitman Head Coach Bruce Teague Jr. "Jeffrey Bero (5g-2a) played a great game today along with the rest of our attack of Matt Hall (5h-1a) and Karl Gray (4g-2a) accounting for an additional nine goals and three assists."
Leroy Halftown had 3g and Dan Galusha added 1g-2a for Mynderse. Tim Trickler made some exciting saves for the Blue Devils finishing with 23 saves.
The teams will play again tomorrow when they travel to Mynderse for their Finger Lakes league game make up. This time they will play in Wildcat Country.

-- It was cold and wet on the Honeoye High School field where the Pride, after a slow start, beat the visiting Screaming Eagles 8-5 in Finger Lakes action this afternoon.
Bloomfield-Honeoye took a slight 2-1 lead after the first quarter and lengthened their lead by two more before the half. Midlakes took the third quarter with a single unanswered goal, but the Pride came back in the fourth quarter with three more goals while holding the Eagles to two.
Junior attackman Jerrett Hertzel led the scoring with three goals and Brandon Lewis added two more for the Pride while Jake Stevens made 11 saves in the cage.
Senior attackman Cory Gray continues his excellent offensive season, adding three more goals to his season total 22g-5a.
The Pride takes a bus trip tomorrow when they face Newark. Midlakes hosts Pal Mac, also on Tuesday.

-- In the end it was Bishop Kearney 12 - Batavia 8, but it was generally an exciting game in Irondequoit this afternoon. Both teams scored two goals in the first quarter, but the Kings outscored the Blue Devils 6-3 in the second quarter, going into the break with an 8-5 lead.
Batavia came back in the third, taking a 3-2 quarter before the Kings came back in the last quarter with two unanswered goals.
Dylan Miller led the scorebook for Bishop Kearney with 5h-3a. Andrew Chadwick added 3g-1a and Nate Kessler scored three goals for the Kings. Kyle Miller recorded twelve saves for Kearney who play tomorrow at Newark.
Nine different players may the offensive book for the Blue Devils. Although six had one point each, Phil Boyd ended the game with 2g-1a and Alex Cliff ended with 1g-1a. Batavia has finished their regular season and will now wait to see who they will play next Monday in the out bracket round of the Class A Tournament.

-- Clarence of Section VI preserved their undefeated season with a fourteenth win after beating their host, Aquinas 9-5. All four Aquinas players had two points. Senior Mike Messina and junior Jake Vogl each scored two goals. Klay Heston had 1g-1a and sophomore Nick Weston had 2a for the L' il Irish who finish up their regular season on Tuesday with a GRALL game at Haverling.
