Once again this year, SportsFive will publish, each week, rankings in each class. SportsFive will continue to publish the New York State Sportswriters poll and will provide links to the Laxpower national polls.

This is the last ranking list of the season, as the tournament seeding comes out next week. Although we can only guess about the seeding, we still try to identify the best teams in rank order. Once the seeding is determined it is possible that the best teams may not end up as number one and two, so the best teams could end up playing in the semi-finals instead of the finals. Of course, your best team list may not be the same as ours. . .

CLASS A
We have no changes in the order in class A this week, but have limited the list to five teams. Fairport and Pittsford remain in the first and second spots respectively, but the answer as to which one belongs in the first place will be decided on Tuesday when they play at Fairport. Penfield continues to impress. They beat Schroeder and Rush last week by one goal in each game and could make a stronger statement when they play Penn Yan on Tuesday. Rush-Henrietta has also improved in the last half of the season and play Pittsford on Thursday.

CLASS B
We have moved Canandaigua back to the top of the list and have moved Thomas down. It's a tough move as the Titans did beat CA by a goal, but they also lost to Pittsford and Aquinas while McQuaid, who we have moved into second, has beaten Aquinas (and lost once) and also beat Pittsford. It will be interesting if Thomas and McQuaid play in the semis.

Brighton only has one game left (East Rochester on Thursday) and at 14-1 will get a good seed, but their level of competition has not been great in Division 3. It is also possible that they could play McQuaid in the semis, and that cross-town contest would be interesting too. Irondequoit has a tough finish this week with CA on Tuesday and Thomas on Thursday. The level of competition could help them prep for the tournament.

CLASS C
Penn Yan or Aquinas... Penn Yan won the game (14-6) when they met earlier, but neither team is the same now. We think that Penn Yan has a history of winning, and it gives them an edge. The Mustangs have played tough teams and their losses have been to good teams. It is hard to imagine, however, that Penn Yan will be the top seed, and for the first time in many, many years. Their record of 8-6, however, will probably place them below the top seed. The Mustangs finish with quality teams (Penfield and Amherst). Aquinas has Canisius and Livonia this week. Geneva and B-H will finish out their seasons with excellent records.

GAMES THIS WEEK
It's hard to believe it but this is the last week of the regular season and there are games on each of the next six days.

Irondequoit is at Canandaigua, Thomas is at Churchville, Victor is at HFL, Penfield hosts Penn Yan and Midlakes is at Pal-Mac. All four are on Tuesday, but the game of the week, has to be Pittsford at Fairport, which could be a "pre-play" of a Class A final four game.

Rush is at Pittsford, Irondequoit is at Thomas and Pal-Mac is at Geneva on Thursday. Livonia gets another game with Aquinas on Friday and Penn Yan travels to Amherst (Section Six) on Saturday, as the last have of the regular season in Section Five.

Of course, if you team is playing, it is the Game of the Week.
