Once again this year, SportsFive will publish, each week, rankings in each class. SportsFive will continue to publish the New York State Sportswriters poll and will provide links to the Laxpower national polls.

The only changes this week are in Class A. There are some important games this week that may generate changes elsewhere, but this week Classes B and C remain unchanged.

Once again, there no doubt that Fairport, Canandaigua and Penn Yan below the odds-on favorites in each class. Although Canandaigua (along with Brighton) are the only undefeated teams left in the Section, Canandaigua will play Penn Yan on Saturday, clearly a tough match for them. Brighton plays Pittsford at the end of the week, which will give them an opportunity to make a statement.

CLASS A
In a truly classic game, Fairport took the game to overtime on a goal scored with no time left on the clock. Canandaigua scored first in overtime and remain undefeated. The Red Raiders play Penfield on Tuesday and Penn Yan on Saturday. Pittsford continues to win games and are now clearly established as a top Class A team. They could be 11-1 by Saturday. Although Schroeder continues to struggle their game with Rush-Henrietta on Thursday is a "must win", but the Royal Comets are steadily improving. Penfield moves up one slot as they are also improving. A good showing against Fairport on Tuesday would help the Patriots in a lot of ways.

CLASS B
Canandaigua has won twenty-nine in a row and after their overtime win against Fairport on Saturday. Although Thomas was stunned by their loss to Aquinas last week their only other losses are to Fairport and Pittsford. They end their week hosting CA. McQuaid is now 9-1 with their only loss to Liverpool. They have a second contest with Aquinas this week, and although they won the first one 13-8, they will get the opportunity to make a statement with another win on Tuesday.

Brighton is undefeated (10-0), but have very few challenges in their schedule. One of them is Pittsford, who they will play on Saturday. Like other teams this week, it gives them an opportunity to make a statement.

CLASS C
The Penn Yan is 6-4, but still the team to beat in Class C. Their very challenging schedule will help prepare them for the post-season, and one of those challenging games is Fairport on Saturday. Aquinas remains in the second position at 7-3 and quality wins against Irondequoit, Thomas and Livonia. B-H in number three gets another game with Geneva (in number four). In the first meeting the Pride won by one goal.

GAMES THIS WEEK
We are a little more than half way through the regular season and there is a full scheduled this week with forty-two games this week and a number of really good match-ups which include:

On Tuesday Geneva play Bloomfield-Honeoye, McQuaid plays Aquinas and Livonia is at Haverling. Penfield and Fairport and Hilton plays Schroeder.

On Thursday CA is at Thomas, the Thunder is at ER, Schroeder palsy Rush-Henrietta and Geneva plays at Midlakes.

On Saturday, Brighton is at Pittsford and Penn Yan is at Fairport.

Of course, if your team is playing, it is the Game of the Week.
