Monday: R-H, Thomas and McQuaid Jesuit Win

April 27, 2009 - Rush-Henrietta beat Hilton 14-8. Thomas was a 21-5 winner at Canisius (Section VI) and McQuaid Jesuit won a GRALL victory against Haverling (10-5).

Rush-Henrietta 14 - Hilton 8 

 --  Rush-Henrietta traveled to Hilton where they were a 14-8 winner in a non-league game today. The teams were tied at 2-2 after the first quarter but the Royal Comets added three unanswered goals in the second to lead 5-2 at the half, and then won the third quarter 6-4. Brad Sauln won 10 of 21 face offs for R-H.

Scoring for Rush-Henrietta were Joe Perkins (6g), Jake Alvarez (3g-3a), Chris Aycock (4g-2a), Tyler Badger (1g), Torry Whitcher (1a), Brad Sauln (4a) and Mike Hudson (1a). Matt Gladstone had 12s/8ga for the Royal Comets (2-6).

Scoring for Hilton were Mike Crumlish (1g), Kyle Youngman (1g), David Smith (1g-1a), Jimmy Gaffney (1g-1a), Steve Bernston (2g), Matt Fracassi (2g). Ken Stiles made 7s/14ga for the Cadets (4-3).

Thomas 21 - Canisius 5

 --  Webster Thomas traveled to Canisius (Section VI) for a 21-5 win. The Titans started off with a 7-3 first quarter lead and then led at the half 16-4. Both teams scored one goal in the third quarter and Thomas added four unanswered goals in the last quarter. Both teams took 37 shots; Thomas had 30 on the cage whereas Canisius had 26 on the cage.

Scoring for Thomas were Brad Hutton (4g), Jack Hinderland (2g-2a), Nick Scalzo (2g-1a), Bill Gurowski (2g), Pat Morrill (1g-3a), Ken Tomeno (1g-1a), JT Hauck (2a), Kyle LaValle (2g) and 6/11 at face off, Kyle Rothfuss (5g), Mason Hill (1g) and Jon Skovira (1g). Jim O'Neil started in the goal and made 12s/4ga in the first half. Austin Fox played the second half and had 9s/1ga for the Titans (7-1).

Scoring for Canisius were Nick Caldiero (2g), Ryan Wagner (1g) and 7/12 at face offs, Anthony Fulham (1g), Bill Mittlefehldt (1g) and Richard Walsh (1a). Jeff White started in goal and had 9s/17ga (36 mins) and Alex Muscarella finished with 0s/4ga for the Crusaders (5-5).

McQuaid Jesuit 10 - Haverling 5

 --  McQuaid Jesuit used the last quarter to finalize their 10-5 win over visiting Haverling in a GRALL match up tonight. Haverling took the first quarter 3-2, but did not score in the second and only scored one goal in the third and fourth quarters. Meanwhile, the Knights added two goals in both the second and third and four in the last quarter for the win.

Scoring for McQuaid Jesuit were Mike Crawford (2g-2a), Nick Wolak (2g), John Jenkins (1g), Bobby Stuver (1g-2a), Eric Wright (2g-1a), James Sturnick (1g), Pat Jenkins (1g) and Jack Pomeroy (2a). Pat Sheridan made 7s/5ga for the Knights.

Scoring for Haverling were Brian Gable (2g), Mark Martuscello (1g), Tim Wolfer (1g), Eric Dickson (1g), Zach Reed (2a), Brent Harrison (1a) and Nick Rossi (1a). Chris Wolfer made 14s/10ga for the Rams.
