Friday: Gates Chili and Clarence Win Games

April 24, 2009 - Gates Chili broke a 4-4 halftime score to beat Eastridge 10-4 behind the efforts of sophomore attackman Grant Ferguson who scored 5g-2a for the Spartans. Clarence (Section VI) used a six goal second half to defeat visiting Rush-Henrietta 9-4.

Gates Chili 10 - Eastridge 4 

 --  Eastridge had a 4-3 lead after the first quarter, but Gates Chili tied the game at four each at the half and then scored six unanswered goals in the second half for a 10-4 win at Eastridge today.

Scoring for Gates Chili were Grant Ferguson (5g-2a), Tyler Webb (2g-3a) and RJ Macks (1g-1a). Brian Eckam and Steve Campaniello added (1g) each. Jason Baetzhold had 15s/4ga for the Spartans.

Scoring for Eastridge were Curtis Scott (1g-1a), Patrick Moynihan (1g), Trevor Horne (1g-1a), Adam Sisson (1a), and Mike Mortillaro (1g). Jake Czwilinski made 13s/10ga for the Lancers.

Clarence 9 - Rush-Henrietta 4

 --  Clarence, a Class A team from Section VI, overcame a 2-1 first quarter deficit to tie 3-3 at the half before scoring six second half goals to defeat visiting Rush-Henrietta 9-4.

Scoring for Clarence were Tom Owen (3g), Mark Lopian (3g), Dave DeCirce (1g), Reid Zaccagnino (2g-1a) and Jake Woodward (1a). Senior goalie Ryan Duff had 13s/4ga for the Red Devils (6-1).

Scoring for Rush-Henrietta were Joe Perkins (3g), Torry Whitcher (1g) and Chris Aycock (1a). Matt Gladstone recorded 9s/9ga for the royal Comets.
