Thursday - League Play
May 10, 2007 - With league games the mainstay, winners included Fairport or Penfield, Schroeder over RH and Irondequoit over Pittsford. Other winners included Brockport, Spencerport, CC, Thomas. HFL and McQuaid Jesuit.
Given their respective records, it would be difficult for Schroeder to see Rush-Henrietta as a real threat, but for the first 34 minutes of the game it could have been a win for either team. The last 14 minutes, however, saw the Warriors came alive, scoring seven goals for a 13-5 win at home.
Schroeder started out with the first three goals. Mike Tota retrieved a ground ball near the crease, turned hard and bounced the ball past Matt McShea at 10:46. Grant Catalino received a cross field pass from Austin Orsini at 6:57 for the first of his 5g-3a outing. The boys reversed the honors two minutes later as Catalino drove into a double team and dished the ball for Orsini who scored on the far-side open net. Rush got on the scoreboard at the four minute mark when Nate Delone cut hard to the crease and received the ball from Matt Moran. Justin Rose ended the quarter with an unassisted goal scored during the Royal Comet clear. The first quarter ended with Schroeder up 3-2.

With the scored 4-2, Rush brought it back to within one with an unassisted goal by Colin Cornaire at 7:48. Cornaire dodged a lunging Webster defenseman and shot at nearly point blank range on Zach Marshall. Schroeder scored the next two goals, both unassisted. The first was from Mike Barilla on a diving shot in front of the crease, and the second was by Catalino, with 0:59 left, who sprinted to the goal after catching a long clearing pass from long stick, Drew Palmer. Moran finished the half with a goal for R-H at 0:04 after driving from behind the cage, dodging one defensive player and scoring with a wrist shot. The half ended with the Warriors frustrated, the Royal Comets high with enthusiasm and the scored 6-4 for Webster.
At the start of the third quarter, Rose scored another unassisted goal, this one a side arm shot rising to the top corner at 9:14 as the Warriors continued to struggle with overthrown passes and failure to "take care of the ball", but not for too much longer. Moran's goal was the last score for R-H and Schroeder scored two more in the third quarter and five more in the fourth quarter. Orsini, who scored 3g-3a was the next to add points to the Webster side with an unassisted bounce shot at 4:33 and Tota finished the quarter on a pass from Catalino (doubled and dump). The Warriors led after three quarters, 8-5.
The last quarter was all Schroeder starting with a Catalino rising side arm to the right corner at 8:58. Nick Mooney scored at 7:48 with a cross face feed from Orsini. Catalino hit again, just twenty seconds later with a spectacular shot after dodging five players, being knocked to the ground, and shooting while sitting on the ground in front of the goal. Coach Gottko called for check of Catalino's stick and no penalty was assessed. Less than a minute later Barilla cut to the goal and scored on a feed from Orsini who scored the last goal of the game after receiving a cross-face feed from Catalino.
