Game Rules - Points of Emphasis
March 17, 2007 - Although the small number of rule changes adopted last summer are for the most part "language issues", there are a number of "Points of Emphasis" that officials will enforcing in the games this season.
- Chinstraps: All four points must be attached. (Players will be warned the first time and then assessed and illegal procedure or unsportsmanlike conduct penalty thereafter.)
- Cross Checking vs the Hold: If the defensive player initiates contact using the handle of the crosse, one of these penalties will be enforced.
- Jewelry: Medical or religious only and they must be taped down.
There is also a reminder that starting in the 2008 season, there are new jersey specifications.
