Monday: Pal-Mac and Livonia Win
May 8, 2006 - Haverling entered the 4th quarter up 5-3 but Pal Mac tied the score with 2:32 left in the game and Dave Merritt scored the game winner in the second overtime with a behind the goal feed from Mike Christ. Livonia took a 7-1 first quarter lead before beating Haverling 17-3.
Livonia was the 17-3 winner over Athena/Odyssey as Scott Mosher scored most of the first quarter points with three goals and two assists. Brian Sciera added two goals and Adam Schaible and Chadd Britton each scored one goal. Jared Bennett scored for Greece on a nice fast break assist from Nick Ryan. The bulldogs took a 7-1 first quarter lead.
The Bulldog defense played a strong game all night long led by Andy Kurtz, Zac Berger, Jeremy Allston, Shane Moran and Aaron Jamison. The unit allowed Greece only 12 shots in the game. Midfielders Jim Crowell and Terry Matthews led the team ground ball effort with 5 each. Chadd Britton had his usual strong game facing off for Livonia.
A five goal second quarter put Livonia on top by a 12-1 margin at the half. Chadd Britton and Brian Sciera each had 2 goals and 1 assist during the second quarter. Tyler Russell added a goal and Jim Crowell an assist.
In the third quarter Adam Schaible scored his second goal of the night. Tyler Russell had a big second half adding 2 goals and 2 assists to his total. He finished the night as Livonia’s leading scorer with 3g and 3a. Luke Merritt and John Dalberth had assists. Greece scored twice in the fourth quarter. Jared Bennett got his second, and Matt Machucki scored as well.
Scoring for Livonia were Tyler Russell (3g-3a), Brian Sciera (4g-1a), Scott Mosher (3g-2a), Chadd Britton (3g-1a), Adam Schaible (2g), Kyle Olson (2g), Jim Crowell (1a), Luke Merritt (1a) and John Dalberth (1). Zac Berger made 3 saves and Aaron Jamison added 3 more for the Bulldogs (9-5).
Scoring for Athena/Odyssey were Jared Bennett (2g), Matt Machucki (1g-1a) while Nick Kulzer and Nick Ryan each had an assist. Dave Tarana recorded 14 saves for Greece.

Haverling had a 3-1 first quarter lead and also led 4-3 at the half. in the fourth quarter Pal-Mac's Will Mallia had the game tying goal with 3:00 left in the game. The Raiders had great defensive play from close defenders Eddie Anderson, Ryan Bills, Andy Hems, and Dan Evans. Jon Reeves also had some key stops late in the game to keep the Raiders up.
