March 18,2006 - Eastridge was tied with Churchville-Chili for 4th in the Monroe County-2 division last year with a 6-8 record and at 6-11 over all. Senior midfielder Kevin Kimber, and senior goalie Mike Matteo were named to the MC-2 All League list.

Seeded 5th on the Class B side of the B/C tournament, the Lancers lost to Victor in the first round (18-7) and finished in 5th. eastr1

Coach Jasson Jobson will have his hands full this year after losing seventy percent of his team to graduation. Sixteen of his twenty-three players graduated last year including goalie Mike Matteo (Fisher) and Kevin Kimber in midfield. Nick Savine (Fisher), Brody Mapes and Brian Sutton and Matt Francis are gone from the attack. Joe Staszczyck, Luis Aloma, Brendan Bleier and Anthony Lacatena are gone from defense. Mike Passantino, Josh Perkins, Adam Hasenauer, Ricky Forero, Quinn Williams and David Granito have left from midfield.

The cupboard is not quite empty as senior midfielders Sean Sawyer and R.J. Pixley return along with senior defenseman Germaine Davidson and junior attackman Todd Horne. Coming up to fill the voids are sophomore attackmen Brandon Moynihan and Alex Austin, junior midfielder Nick Mormino and sophomore middie Kevin Mahler. Sophomore defensive midfielder moves up Nathan Wirth with junior defenseman Jon Champion. Sophomore Eugene Ferrera takes over in the goal.

Playing in the MC-2 division this year, Coach Jobson wisely added some MC-3 games with Arc/Oly, Brockport and Spencerport but it will be a different season without the experience of Matteo and the scoring power of last year’s offense. With such a turnover, experience will be an issue and this will most certainly be a building year for the Lancers.
