Game Report: Wed - 04/28/04

- Wednesday saw a couple of make-up games and a non-league game in Section Five.
   
Canandaigua moved to 10-0 with a 15-1 win at Rush-Henrietta. Ten different players contributed to the scoring for the Braves, led by junior attackman, Chris Mulheron (3g) and Bob Bush (2g-2a). Five other players scored two goals each, including, Mike Pane (2g-1a), Stephen Smith (2g-1a), Tyler Emery (2g-1a), Aaron Manzer and Chad Buck. Junior midfielder, Dan Goot added 1g-1a and senior attackman,Ben Stanley scored 1g. Swedish foreign exchange student and CA midfielder, Oscar Hugosson scored his first Varsity goal for the Braves. Playing well in the defense were Brian McWilliams, Mike Serron, Grady Moore, Ed Walsh and Jay Woodworth. Sophomore goalies, Dan Serafine (3s) and Matt McMahon (1s) combined for the win.

The Mynderse Academy improved their record to 4-6 with a 13-1 home game win over Palmyra-Macedon. Mike Kurziolek scored 3g-1a and Chris Warrick added 3g for the the winners, as Troy Gotham scored 2g-1a and Mike Lambert added 2g-1a. Time Ellis (1g-1a), Jake Fitzgerald and Andy Zaverella each added a goal. Kevin McCully recorded 3a and Eric Davids added an assist for Mynderse. Blue Devil goalies, Anthony Carnvale (8s) and Matt Daffledecke (2s) combined for the win.
   
Junior middie, Dave Bennett scored Pal-Mac's Goal while junior goalie, Ben Dlugosh made 14 saves for the Raiders (2-7). [No report from Pal-Mac.]
   
Schroeder scored the first 3 goals, but Pittsford battled back to end the half with the Warriors up 5-2. A series of Panther penalties allowed Schroeder to build at 10-4 lead. Pittsford came back again and cut the lead to 10-8. The Webster defense held it together for the win. Junior midfielder, Mike Catalino led the Warrior scoring with 6g. Sophomore attackman, Jay Willmes added 2g-2a for Schroeder (5-3).
   
Junior attackman, Jake Boyce scored 3g-1a, along with senior middies, Pat Kendricks (3g) and RJ Lamontagne (2g) for Pittsford (4-3). [No report from Pittsford.]
   
Corning West defeated Haverling as Brian Quinn scored 6g-2a and Andy Sienkiewicz added 4g on the way to the 11-4 Viking win.
   
"Offense is our problem," Haverling Head Coach Ken DiDomineck told the Corning Leader. "Our passing is better, but it's not enough to win against good opponents. We just have to keep working on it. There's still a lot of season left." [Score only from Haverling.]
