Victor Wins 50th Straight

- Over the past 50 contests, the Victor Blue Devils have never lost.  Victor scored the game winning goal with only 0:50 remaining in the game to defeat Loyola Academy 5-4. Over the last 50 games the Blue Devils have won by an average of 9.7 goals per game; for only the second time the game was decided by a single goal.  The first time was against Pittsford on May 7,2015 and the Blue Devils needed overtime to secure their 14th straight win (HERE).

Victor came out of the gate ready and scored the first three goals.  Mitchel Cain, Connor Kennan and Alexander Mabbett each scored one goal for the Blue Devils.  The first quarter ended 3-0 for Victor.  In the second quarter, Loyola scored two back to back to bring the game within one.  Christopher Manicini scored the first of his two unassisted goals and Najee Taylor assisted Timmy Hackett for the second.   Cain scored his second goal to give Victor the 4-2 lead at the half.

Loyola scored two more goals to start the third quarter and with 9:02 remaining had tied the game at 4-4.  The game remained tied for over 20 minutes until Keenan scored his second goal of the night to secure the 5-4 win with 0:50 remaining on the clock.  Loyola won the final face off but could not add another goal to force overtime.

Defensemen Mitch Rydzynski and Sutton Boland each recorded 3 ground balls for Victor.  Attackman Sam Lambert led with 2 takes for the Blue Devils.
