Kay Scores in Overtime
April 17, 2017 - Jonathan Kay scored the game winning goal in the first overtime period off an assist from Collin Griffin. Webster Schroeder defeated Hilton 9-8. The Warriors forced the overtime with 1:44 remaining in the fourth quarter.
In addition to scoring the game winning, Kay also scored the opening goal of the game. The first goal was unassisted. Hilton came back with the next four goals (three in the first quarter). Ben Mitrano scored the first two unassisted with Max Chamberlain scoring the third. After their fourth goal, Hilton led 4-1 with 11:21 remaining in the second quarter.
Schroeder came back and scored the next four to re-take the lead 5-4 going into halftime. AJ Fiorio, Collin Griffin, Hunter Olsen and Noah Germano each scored one goal. In the third quarter, Hilton scored the only four goals while holding the Warriors scoreless. The Cadets led 8-5 after 36 minutes. They did not score in the fourth quarter. Schroeder, on the other hand, scored three more goals in the fourth quarter to send the game to overtime. The game tying goal was scored by Griffin with Connor Bolin assisting. In the cage for Schroeder, Antonio Deleo recorded four saves. For the Cadets, Jacob VanWuychuyse also recorded four saves.
