Brighton Holds off Late Advance

- Brighton took a four goal lead into the second half on their way to a 10-9 win over Hilton.  The Barons had six players make their offensive scorebook in the win with Brett Randall leading in scoring with 3g-3a.  Hilton was more spread out with ten players in their offensive book.

The Cadets scored the first goal with Zachary Mitrano scoring the opening goal unassisted.  Brighton came back with the next three goals to take their first lead.  Randall, Brady McDermott and Owen Ronchetti scored the Barons.  Ben Mitrano scored another unassisted goal for Hilton to take the game to 3-2 Brighton at the end of the first quarter.  They also scored the first goal of the second quarter to tie the game for the second time.  Brenden Howell scored off an assist from Ben Mitrano.

Brighton’s scoring took off with four unanswered goals.  The Barons four goal lead held into the third quarter.  Hilton never gave up and kept up their pressure; however, they could not re-tie the game in the second half.  Brighton’s four goal lead held into the fourth quarter (9-5).  Hilton scored three goals to pull within one goal with 8:54 remaining in regulation.  Lukas Stanat scored for the Barons with 6:31 remaining to give Brighton what turned into the game winning goal.  As time was concluding, Hilton scored their final goal with 1:16 on the clock with Tyler Carpenter assisting Jordan DePetres.

In the cage for Hilton, Jacob VanWuychuyse recorded nine saves.  Face off midfielder Shawn Doran finished 10/17 at the draw with a team leading seven ground balls.  Carpenter and Tyler Dalle each finished with 2 takes.  Between the pipes for the Barons, Caleb Green recorded six saves.
