McQuaid Beats Avon

- McQuaid Jesuit scored the first three goals and never trailed in their 14-6 win over visiting Avon. The Knights had ten different players make their offensive scorebook and twenty-seven players with at least one statistic. Midfielder Jarrett Cook led his team with 7 ground balls. Defenseman Ryan Nelson finished with four ground balls. The Knights spread their scoring around and many players had shots. They had seventeen different players take shots at the goal and only two had ( the max) of five shots. Shawn Nally finished with 5g-1a and scored on each of his shots. Between the pipes, the Knight`s had three goalies. Gianmarco Coelho played the first two quarters and finished with two saves. Anthony Caranci started the second half and recorded four saves (57%) for McQuaid Jesuit. For the final seven minutes of the contest, Nick Angelo was between the pipes and finished with three saves and no goals against.

Avon finished with five players on their offensive scorebook. Zachary Haley finished with 2g-2a and led the Braves. Bailey Eigbrett finished with eight ground balls and six shots to lead his team in both categories. Defenseman Christopher Mekeel finished with seven ground balls. Mekeel and Cole Younger both finished with two defensive takes for the Braves. In the cage, Austin Henderson finished with ten saves. Although the Knight`s offensive was too much for the Braves at times, Henderson had some highlights in the cage. There were a number of saves where, even when out of position, he was able to come up with an impressive save.
