Friday: Gates Chili and Clarence Win Games

Gates Chili broke a 4-4 halftime score to beat Eastridge 10-4 behind the efforts of sophomore attackman Grant Ferguson who scored 5g-2a for the Spartans. Clarence (Section VI) used a six goal second half to defeat visiting Rush-Henrietta 9-4. Full Story

Thursday: Many One Goal Games

Ithaca (Section IV) used overtime to defeat Irondequoit 7-6 this afternoon. Other close games included Penfield 8-7 over Hilton, Pal-Mac 6-5 over Midlakes, Pittsford 8-6 over McQuaid Jesuit and Gates Chili 6-4 over Spencerport. Other winners included Aquinas, Mynderse, Penn Yan and Canandaigua. Full Story

Wednesday: It's Fairport 12-7

The first battle for ranking in Class A was settled this afternoon when Fairport (6-1) knocked off Thomas (5-1) 12-7 at Webster. In the other game played today, Batavia beat Each Rochester 11-10 in overtime. Junior attackman Will Mulcahy scored the game winner for the Blue Devils. Full Story

Tuesday: Pal-Mac in OT and Haverling over Livonia among winners

Haverling won it's first GRALL game since 2004 when the defeated Livonia (8-6). Pal-Mac used two overtime periods for their 11-10 win over Waterloo. Aquinas, Victor, Schroeder, Midlakes, CA and Penn Yan also won games on Tuesday. Full Story

Face offs were a key part of a number of games tonight with Thomas players combining for 12/18, Canandaigua's Marshall Johnson winning 20/20 in their 15-5 win over Penn Yan, Max Brauer winning 15/22 face offs for Brighton in their 19-2 win over the Lightning. Full Story

Riley Austin played the first half in the goal and had a hand in all four goals in the fourth quarter to stage a comeback 10-8 win for Eastridge over the Greece Thunder (Ath/Ody). Midlakes won a 13-5 victory over Batavia. Full Story

It was another raw and wet day for games today. The HFL-Hamburg game was postponed (no date yet), but Fairport beat visiting Niagara Wheatfield (Section 6), Penn Yan beat Webster Schroeder, Midlakes beat Waterloo and Aquinas beat Pittsford in the games that did take place. Full Story

Friday: Orchard Park at the Buzzer

It was a tale of two halves, when the Canandaigua Braves opened their season at Orchard Park (Section 6), with miserable rain and wind making conditions difficult. The game was the first lacrosse game held on the new, two million dollar turf field recently installed at Orchard Park. Full Story

Thursday: Churchville and Aquinas win in overtime

Although a number of games resulted in blowouts today, two were settled in overtime and two others were very close. Churchville-Chili was a 9-8 ot winner against Gates Chili, and Aquinas was a 10-9 ot winner against McQuaid Jesuit in GRALL Play. Full Story

Brighton and Arc/Oly Among Winners

There were six games games on Tuesday. Brighton, who did not win a game in 2008, is now 2-0 after their 9-5 win over visiting Eastridge. Marcus Whitman, playing their first Varsity game in school history, was leading 6-2 before the Greece Lightning came back and won 8-6. Full Story

Class/Division Changes Make Things Interesting

With a major change in the NYS Class alignments, Canandaigua and Irondequoit move to Class B, making that class much more challenging, while maintaining that exciting rivalry. Geneva and Aquinas, who have, in the past, elected to move up from Class C, now like the idea of taking on Penn Yan instead of CA and IQ. Full Story

Honeoye Falls-Lima ended their league season fourth in Monroe County Division II with a 5-5 record (7-9 overall). Seeded fourth in the Class B tournament the Cougars lost to Geneva in the first round and finished as seeded. Full Story

There were eleven games on an unusually beautiful March game day. Pittsford won a 6-5 game against Churchville-Chili, and Irondequoit won an 11-6 victory over Penfield, but the rest of the games were lopsided victories and six went into running time. Full Story
