Gananda 8 - Haverling 7 in Overtime

In the SportsFive Featured game of the day, Gananda scored 1:34 into the first overtime period to defeat Haverling 8-7. Over their history in Section Five, Gananda and Haverling have faced each other four times, twice in 2013 and the first time in 2011. Haverling won the first contest 18-5 in 2011 before Gananda won the next three.  Full Story

Thomas 9 - Iroquois 6

Although Iroquois (Section VI) scored the first goal of the game, Webster Thomas scored the next three and six of the next seven to defeat the Chiefs 9-6. The Titans were led in scoring by Kevin Hill with six goals. He finished the game with 16 shots (9 on cage) and accounted for 41% of the shooting for Thomas. Full Story

Lancers Take Thunder

Greece Athena/Odyssey scored the first four goals of the contest but then was held scoreless for over thirty minutes. Eastridge scored nine goals before the Thunder scored again and won 11-6. Freshman attackman Andrew Doktor and junior midfielder Anthony Suero both finished with four goals to lead the offense efforts of the Lancers. Full Story

Royal Comets Take Bulldogs

Rush-Henrietta scored the first eleven goals in their 14-2 win over Livonia in the third game at Aquinas on the opening day of games. The Royal Comets controlled the majority of the game with 45% of their totals shots resulting in goals and 65% of their shots on cage.  Full Story

Aquinas 9 - St. Francis 6

In the second game at Aquinas, the Little Irish took on St. Francis (Section VI). The game was close for the first half and then Aquinas scored the first two goals of the third quarter and held the lead though the final twenty-four minutes. Senior attackmen Alex Bianchi (3g-2a) and Jonathan Olbrich (4g) led in scoring for Aquinas.  Full Story

Titans Beat Pats

Webster Thomas scored the first three goals of the contest and never trailed in their 12-8 victory over Penfield. The Titans were in complete control of the game and led by six at the beginning of the fourth quarter. Thomas also spread out their scoring with five different players scoring two goals each and seven total players making the scorebook. Conversely, Penfield had five of their goals come from junior attackman Max Spaan. Spaan was responsible for 12 of Penfield's 30 total shots with only six total players taking shots in the entire game. Thomas had five players with over four shots with junior midfielder Kevin Hill leading with eight shots. Full Story

HFL 7 - McQuaid Jesuit 5

HF-L scored the first two goals, both during man-up situations, and led for the entire game in their 7-5 win over McQuaid Jesuit. The Cougars were led in scoring by attackmen Ryan Kelly (3g-1a) and Tim Breau (2g-2a).  Full Story

Aquinas Over Haverling in GRALL Action

Haverling started off in control with the first three goals of the contest, but the Little Irish fought back to win 14-8. Aquinas scored six unanswered goals spanning the third and fourth quarters and finished the game with nine of the last ten goals. The Rams only scored one goal in the entire second half of play.  Full Story

Eagles Take Barons

Irondequoit scored the first four goals of the game in their 12-7 win over Brighton. The Eagles had scoring from four different players to start the game off with Trevor Carney, Daniel Doktor, Andrew Knope and Ben Lamendola each scoring goals.  Full Story

Mynderse 8 - Batavia-Attica 6

The Blue Devils opened their season with a close win against Batavia-Attica as they finished with an 8-6 victory as home. B-A scored the first goal of the game as Trevor Rittersback hit the back of the net. Mynderse returned quickly on a nice feed by Teddy Stuck to Francis Leddy. Rush-Henrietta over Waterloo

In the sole game played on Friday, visiting Rush-Henrietta (2-0) took an 8-0 half to a 14-2 victory in a non-league game at Waterloo. Junior attackman, Collin Waden led the Royal Comets with 5g-1a and senior goaltender Corey Luty had a ninety-one percent save record with ten saves in his forty-one minutes in the nets. Full Story

Penfield 4 - West Genesee 3 in Double Overtime

Less than thirty seconds into the second overtime period, Penfield`s Jake Sproule picked up his own face-off ground ball and drove to the cage. He scored on a high bounce shot to secure the 4-3 win over Section III`s West Genesee.  Full Story

Spencerport 13 - HFL 10

Spencerport scored the first two goals of the contest and with the exception of fifteen seconds in the first quarter, led or tied for the entire game. The Rangers won 13-10 and were led by attackmen Kasey Olsen (5g) and Colin Mcelligott (2g-6a). Of the thirteen goals, only two were by midfielders the rest were scored by the remaining attackmen: Ryan Schirano (3g) and Brandon Ellis (1g-1a). In the cage for the Rangers, Connor MacKenzie finished with eight saves. Midfielder Andrew Forte finished with a team leading 11 ground balls and was 14/26 (54%) at the face off draw. Full Story
