Thursday: Full Swing - Seven Games

There was lots of action in Section Five today as seven games were played on the last day of March. Victor had a one goal win over visiting Pal-Mac as senior attackman Cory Benulis scored the game winner with 3:59 left. Pal-Mac dominated the first half with ball control and patience. Victor stayed in the game with defensive performances by sophomore Tim Gallahan and senior middie Tim Rose. Full Story

Friday: Waterloo over Pal-Mac

Waterloo defeated host Pal-Mac 12-5 with seven different players making the score-book. After 4-1 quarter and 6-1 half, The Indians, who won the ground ball race 26-17 outscored the Raiders 6-4 in the second half. Full Story

Monday: Victor over Aquinas

Only one game was played on Monday, and Victor was the winner with a 10-7 game at Aquinas. Victor held the lead each quarter, starting with a 3-1 first quarter and a 4-2 half. Junior midfielder Erick Rogemoser (3g-2a) was the leader for the Blue Devils followed by senior middie Kyle Sullivan (1g-3a), senior attackman Cory Benulis (3g), sophomore middie Eric Willman (2g) and freshman attackman Tom Rogemoser (1g). Tuesday: Spring Weather at Last

Livonia increased their record to one win one loss with a thrilling 11-10 sudden victory double overtime win over Haverling at Saunders field. The winning goal was scored on an isolation play by senior midfielder Josh Hendrickson with 2:27 left in the second overtime period.  Full Story

Thursday: And the Winners Are. . .

Honeoye Falls-Lima improved their record to 4-0 with a night game win at host Brighton, 17-5. After building a 5-3 lead in the first, the Cougars exploded in the second with 8 goals to Brighton's 1 to end the half up 13-3. Seven different players contributed to the 17 goals, 11 of which were assisted (65%).  Full Story

Friday: Pal-Mac over Midlakes

It was Pal-Mac 10-3 over Midlakes on Friday afternoon. Midlakes started off with a 2-1 lead at the end of the first quarter, but it was all PM after that as the Raiders scored six goals in the second and four more the the second half while holding Midlakes to one goal in the last quarter. Saturday: Beautiful Weather

Mid 50 degree weather and bright sunshine dominated and the fans were winners today as 12 games were played by Section Five teams. Waterloo won another OT game in their 9-8 win over Waterloo. Newark played Midlakes to an 8-6 win and Aquinas won a close game with McQuaid Jesuit on their new turf field. Full Story

Penfield in their second tough game this week beat Fairport in a close one, Pittsford beat Rush-Henrietta in overtime and Schroeder won the bragging rights in Webster on another cool and sunny afternoon.  Full Story

Saturday: Some Close Ones

With the exception of one make up game, Saturday was "Non-League" Day in Section Five. Penn Yan beat Schroeder 8-7 and Orchard Park beat Fairport 10-9. Surprises came in the form of Canandaigua over Irondequoit 15-3 and Rush-Henrietta over Victor 9-5. Full Story

Wednesday: Newark Tourn and more

It was day 1 for the Newark Tournament and Aquinas and Newark with the winners. Irondequoit beat Ithaca of Section Four and HFL beat host Pittsford.  Full Story

Thursday: Some Big Wins

It was all it was cracked up to be. Two good teams fighting it out, each needing a win, but with only team able to come out on top. Today it was Penn Yan over host Fairport 10-8 an a game that went right down to the wire. Full Story

Friday: Irondequoit over Spencerport

Irondequoit won a 15-5 non-league game against host Spencerport on Friday morning. After taking a 6-0 first quarter and 11-1 half, the Eagles coasted to the win while unloading the bench. Ten different players made the scorebook. Full Story

Saturday: Intersectional Contests

Four games were played with teams from other sections and the Section Five teams went 1-3 on Saturday. Victor was the winner over Sweet Home, while Canandaigua, Penn Yan and Geneva lost. In other contests, Waterloo and Pittsford were winners.  Full Story

Tuesday: Fairport in a Close One

It was a full day of lacrosse under cloudy but warm skies. Fairport won a close game against vi sting Irondequoit, and Gates has a one goal victory in the battle of the Chilis. Hilton won in overtime, but there were a number of blowouts as Canandaigua, Penn Yan, Geneva and Penfield each had easy wins. Full Story

There were 13 games held on a very cold and sometimes wet afternoon with a number of close games. Full Story

Saturday: Down to One Undefeated Team

There were 8 games played on Saturday. HF-L's undefeated season ended at the hands of Schroeder, Fairport ended the week with three wins with their win over Corning East and Penfield remains the only Section Five team still undefeated with their win over Oswego. Full Story
