Exciting OT Highlights Tonight

April 10, 2025 - DAY IN REVIEW: THURSDAY - Thursday saw a total of eight lacrosse games, with four of them decided by narrow margins. Canisius edged out Aquinas 10-9 in overtime after six ties throughout the game, while East United-Eastridge secured their first win of the season with a thrilling 7-6 overtime victory against Brockport. Hilton pulled away in the second quarter to claim a 9-4 win over Schroeder, with standout performances from Tyler Reger and Cahlan Smith. West Genesee defeated Penfield 12-9 in a competitive non-league matchup, led by Nash Oudemool’s four-goal effort. In the remaining contests, Pal-Mac dominated Newark 27-3, Penn Yan shut out Haverling 19-0, Gates Chili topped Batavia-Notre Dame 15-7, and Midlakes secured a commanding 20-9 win over Wayne.

HILTON-9 at SCHROEDER-4 - Hilton defeated Schroeder 9-4 in a non-league lacrosse game, led by Tyler Reger’s three goals and Cahlan Smith’s first Varsity points. Schroeder responded with Garrett Conger’s two goals and sophomore Van Bolton’s ten saves. Hilton’s strong second quarter proved decisive.   [ Story and BOX 

CANISIUS-10 at AQUINAS-9 - Aquinas fell to Canisius 10-9 in overtime in a non-league lacrosse game. Six ties marked the game, with Canisius clinching the win in the final seconds. Aquinas’ Noah Olbrich scored four goals, while Dom Siesto dominated face-offs with an 84% win rate, and Jake Gibson excelled in goal with a 67% save rate. BROCKPORT-6 at EAST UNITED-EASTRIDGE-7 in overtime.  East United-Eastridge achieved their first win of the season, beating Brockport 7-6 after an exciting overtime finish. John Hart and Josh Verna played pivotal roles in scoring the tying and game-winning goals, respectively. Scoring contributions came from Latoine Brown, John Hart, Taye Brown, Josh Verna, and Matai White, while Foxx Fulton added an assist. NEWARK-3 at PAL-MAC-27 - Pal-Mac defeated Newark 27-3 in their FL-D1 league game, improving to 6-0 while Newark fell to 0-2. Newark’s goals came from Sam Underhill (2) and Evan Shulla (1). HAVERLING-0 at PENN YAN-19 - Penn Yan maintained their perfect record against Haverling with a 19-0 victory, featuring contributions from eight goal scorers and milestone achievements for Tukker Fisher and Teagan Fingar. WEST GENESEE-12 at PENFIELD-9 - West Genesee defeated Penfield 12-9 in a non-league lacrosse match. Leading scorers included Nash Oudemool for West Genesee with four goals and Brodie Joyce for Penfield with two goals and three assists. Goalie Mason Schembri recorded sixteen saves at a 57 percent rate for Penfield, while Jonathan Shoults made ten saves for West Genesee. BATAVIA-NOTRE DAME-7 at GATES CHILI-15 - Gates Chili defeated Batavia-Notre Dame fifteen to seven in a non-league lacrosse match. Michael Alley led Gates Chili with five goals and four assists, while Jayden Maryjanowski added two goals and three assists. Batavia-Notre Dame's Harold Mellander scored three goals, and their goalies made a total of eight saves. Gates Chili's goalie Demar Williams achieved a sixty-eight percent save rate. MIDLAKES-20 at WAYNE-9 - The Midlakes Screaming Eagles triumphed over the Wayne Eagles 20-9 in Thursday's FL-D1 league game. Leading scorers for Midlakes included James Sprague (six goals, three assists), Carter Casper (four goals, three assists), and Nate Lathrop (four goals, four assists). For Wayne, Shane Coleman contributed three goals and one assist, while Tas Strickland added two goals and one assist. Midlakes goalie Stuart Quku posted a save percentage of fifty-seven, with twelve saves in forty-eight minutes. Freshman Stone Sozio scored his first varsity goal for Wayne.
