Penfield Over Fairport, Hilton Over Pittsford, PY WIns in OT

April 23, 2024 - DAY IN REVIEW: TUESDAY - There were 11 games played today and 3 were close ones. Penfield was a 7-5 winner over Fairport. Hilton defeated Pittsford by a score of 9-8. Penn Yan was a 8-7 winner over Homer. 

GREECE STORM-12 at RUSH-HENRIETTA-6 - Greece took an early lead ending the first quarter up 4-0, but the Comet came out quickly in the second with two of their own and played catch up for the rest of the game. Of interest is that both sophomore faceoff specialists reached milestones in the game, as Eric Odell reached his 200th faceoff win for the Storm and Preston Jackson (Rush-Henrietta) reached his 100th faceoff win. Leading the scoring for Greece Storm (5-4) were Andrew Hill (2g-4a), Noah Kozak (3g-1a), and James Maccallini (3g). goalkeeper Jonathan Bucciarelli recorded 12s/6ga = 67% (48 mins). Scoring for Rush-Henrietta were Preston Jackson (2g), Koppers Jackson (2g), Andrew Coleman (1g-1a) and Cody Coleman (1g-3a), who reached his 100th career point in the game. SPENCERPORT-15 at CHURCHVILLE-CHILI-2 - Seven different players scored goals for Spencerport in this game including Freshman Patrick Keady who scored his first Varsity goal for the Rangers (5-3). Some others joining him on the offensive book were Zach Tortora (6g-2a), Jayden Mandarano (2g-5a), and Zachary Ajavananda (3g-1a). Facing off for Spencerport was Chase D`Amico with 12+/5- = 71%, and Brody Kaye with 4+/0- = 100%. Spencerport Senior goalie Taylor Kaye had 4s/2ga = 67% (35 mins). SCHROEDER-4 at VICTOR-17 - Victor (6-2) extended their winning streak to 6 wins as seven different players scored goals including Jack Herendeen (1g-8a), Kyle Saeger (5g-1a), and Brody Secker (3g-1a). CANANDAIGUA-11 at HFL-14 - Honeoye Falls-Lima defeated Canandaigua for the first time in their history with strong scoring in the second and third quarters. Scoring for HFL (8-1) were Quinn Kailbourne (5g-3a), Chase Perryman (5g-2a), Mathew Brassie (1g-1a), Owen Smith (1a), and Grady Goodberlet (3g-1a). Facing off for HFL was senior Drew Angelo with 16+/12- = 57%. Leading the scoring for Canandaigua (5-4) were Drew Williamee (4g-1a), Sean Olvany (3g), and Mike Belles (1g-1a). WAYNE-5 at PAL-MAC-16 - Pal-Mac is still the only undefeated team in the Section with an 8-0 record as they saw seven different players make the offensive book including Freshman Sean Allen who scored his first Varsity goal of the Red Raiders. Joining him were Keagan Hoesterey (3g-6a), Jackson Dennie (6g-1a), and Ryan Allen (2g-1a). Luke VanGorden won 12+/10- = 55% at the faceoff "X" and Peyton Lich recorded 13s/5ga = 72% (48 mins) in the goal. Scoring for Wayne were Alex Garrow (2g-1a), PJ Ostrowski (1g-1a),Hank Smith (1g), and Braylon Agnello (1g). FAIRPORT-5 at PENFIELD-7 - In a close MC-D1 game but with only one tie, Fairport started with a 3-1 lead in the first quarter, but the Patriots came back with two unanswered goals to tie the game 3-3 at the half. Penfield took over with Christian Brown scored two of his three goals to start a six-goal run taking the Patriots to 7-3. With just over two minutes left in the game, Sam Pucci (2g) and Marc Hillier scored for the Red Raiders. Leading the scoring for Penfield (6-3) were Ethan Aust (2g-2a), Brodie Joyce (3a), and Zach Shores (2g). Penfield sophomore goaltender Mason Schembri had 10s/5ga = 67% (48 mins).
