Tuesday: Victor Over Pittsford in OT and IRQ over HFL
May 2, 2023 - DAY IN REVIEW: TUESDAY - There were a number of exciting games played in light rain or drizzle, starting with an overtime win by Victor at Pittsford. The Blue Devils scored the last five goals of the game. Irondequoit had a big 12-10 win over visiting HF-L and the Storm had a 5-4 overtime win over visiting Livonia-Avon.
RUSH-HENRIETTA-16 at FAIRPORT-6 - The Royal Comets extended their winning streak to five as they scored their first four goals in under two minutes at the start of the game at Fairport. Mike Valent dominated the faceoff, winning 20+/5- (80%) and often bulled his way from the middle of the field to the goal, scoring the first two goals in the game. Seven different players scored goals including senior midfielder Tyler Bernarduci who reached his 50th career goal with his two goals (51g). LIVONIA-AVON-4 at GREECE STORM-5 in overtime - Senior midfielder Matthew Ranalletta scored the overtime game winner for Greece Storm with 46 seconds left in overtime. There were four ties in this game with each team taking turns with goals. Jackson McEnerney scored the final tying goal with 46 seconds left in regulation. Scoring for the Greece Storm (5-5) were Andrew Hill (2g-1a), Aiden Early (1g-2a), Noah Kozak (1g-0a), and Ranalletta (1g). THOMAS-5 at BRIGHTON-11 - After posting two goals each in the first quarter the Bruins led at the half 4-3, but then held the titans to a single goal in each of the first quarters while scoring seven for themselves. Axsel Stanat (4g-1a) broke the last of three ties and Brighton held the lead for the rest of the contest. Leading the scoring for Brighton (5-5) were James Holbrough (3g-4a) and Miles McGuire (2a). Sophomore Trevor Serve (2g) scored his first Varsity goal in the game while face off specialist Henry Werzinger won 16+/4- = 80%. The Bruins will host Victor on Thursday.

VICTOR-7 at PITTSFORD-6 in overtime - Victor extended their winning streak to 9 wins (10-1) with an exciting overtime win that saw the Blue Devils come back from a 6-2 deficit while holding the Panthers scoreless in the second half. It was most certainly a game of halves as the Panthers scored five unanswered goals in the first quarter and led 6-2 at the half. With just under four minutes left in the half, Victor senior midfielder Thomas Gravino (4g-1a) scored the second of his four goals to start the Blue Devil run of five goals. Gravino scored the tying goal with 11:09 left in the fourth quarter and scored the game winner with 1:26 left in the overtime period. Both teams had more than one try in overtime.
