April 7, 2022 - DAY IN REVIEW: THURSDAY - There were fourteen games played and only one was close and Brighton fought back and almost caught Penfield who won 7-6.
GANANDA 5 - GENEVA 20 - Geneva scored the first two goals and Gananda scored the next two, but that way it as Geneva pulled away. Junior attackman Ryan Brown led Geneva with 6g-3a while senior attackman Curtis Denison added 5g-2a and senior attackman Max Miller had 4g-3a. Senior goaltender Garrett Kayser made seven stops (58%) for the Geneva (2-1). Junior attackman Drew Smith led the Blue Panthers with 3g-1a. [BOX SCORE]
RUSH-HENRIETTA 5 - PITTSFORD 11 - Nine players made the offensive book for the Panthers with junior midfielder Ben Steingass leading the list with 4g. Senior defenseman John Santowski (5gbs) led the ground ball effort for Pittsford who won 23 while R-H won 11. Nolan Dehan had 7s (64%-45 mins) and Jack Garland had 3s (75%- 3mins) for Pittsford. Makai Hillmon had 1g-1a and Chase Petschke had 2g for the Royal Comets (3-1). [BOX SCORE]
PENFIELD 7 - BRIGHTON 6 - A two goal surge by senior midfielder Liam McGuire in the fourth quarter took the Bruins to within one goal as the Patriots held on for the win. McGuire led the scoring for Brighton with 3g-1a. For Penfield Alec Constable had 1g-1a and Ethan Aust had 2g, while Sean Smith assisted on three. MARCUS WHITMAN 14 - WATERLOO 6 - The Wildcats took a 7-3 lead into halftime. Ten different players made the offensive book for Marcus Whitman (2-1). Senior attackman Connor Tomion led the scoring with 3g-2a and junior midfielder Connor Gorton added 2g-2a while faceoff middie Reiner Gallogly won 10 of 13 draws. For Waterloo, senior attackman Scott Verdehem scored 3g-1a and junior goalie Raymond Jones was credited with 17s (59%) in three quarters and Bergren Aunkst-Park was credited with 6s (75%) in his one quarter. CHURCHVILLE-CHILI 22 - BROCKPORT 1 - Sophomore attackman Colin Duncan led the Saints (2-1) with 6g-5a. Eighth grade attackman Ryan Miller score for Brockport. [BOX SCORE]
IRONDEQUOIT 15 - GATES CHILI 1 - Senior attackman Noah Gibson had 6g-2a and eight grader Cooper Moore has 2g-3a for the Eagles in their season opener. Owen Curley scored for the Spartans. [BOX SCORE]
EAST UNITED-EASTRIDGE 2 - HF-L 15 - A dozen different players made the offensive book for the Cougars (2-2). Matthews Brassie had 3g-2a and Chase Perryman had 1g-4a. Drew Angelo won 11 of 14 draws for HF-L and goalie Trevor Reese mad 4s (67%). [BOX SCORE]
WILSON 13 - BATAVIA-NOTRE DAME 7 - Senior midfielder Tyler Burns led the Blue Devil offense with 2g-1a and Nicholas Grover (2g) won 8 of 10 faceoffs. Sophomore goaltender Jaxson Tucker had 13s (50%). The book for Wilson was unavailable. [BOX SCORE]
SCHROEDER 4 - THOMAS 15 - The Titans claimed the battle of Webster this time with nine players making the book. Senior midfielder Ethan Shappee led with 5g-1a while Chase Gottstein and Evan Pashalidis both scored 2g-3a. Schroeder`s senior middie Nick Hauman has 1g-1a for the Warriors. [BOX SCORE]
PAL-MAC 15 - WAYNE 5 - Junior attackman Mike Halsey had 1g-5a and Quinn Nolan (3g-1a) won 18 of 20 faceoffs for the Red Raiders (3-0). There was no report from Wayne at post time. [BOX SCORE]
NEWARK 9 - MYNDERSE 3 - Preston Steve had 4g-1a and Caleb George-Cady made 10s (77%) for the Reds (3-1). Griffin Hilimire led the Blue Devils with 2g-1a and goalie Logan Pettingil recorded 12s (57%). [BOX SCORE]
HILTON 16 - GREECE STORM 3 - Hilton scored the first thirteen goals as senior attackman William Salamone led with 4g-1a. Freshman faceoff midfielder Drew O`Buck won 9 of 11 (82%) draws and sophomore Michael Mitrano added 7 of nine (78%) for the Cadets. Jason Mosher made 6s (100%) in his 31 minutes in the cage. VICTOR 17 - SPENCERPORT 6 - The first quarter was close but starting in the second quarter the Blue Devils took off, as Pax Marshall (5g-2a), Jack Herendeen (2g-4a) and Thomas Gravino (4g-1a). Sam Ricci won 17 of 25 faceoffs and Brady Robinson made 9s (50%). The Rangers were led by Anthony Rodrigues (1g-1a), Austin Mandarano (2g) and Sam Keens (2a).
