2022 Season Opens With Two Games

- Thursday: DAY IN REVIEW: Class C Champions, Honeoye Falls-Lima traveled to Haverling tonight to play the first game of the 2022 season. It was a great game that was close throughout, never differing by more than two, as the Cougars won the 10-9 victory.

HF-L junior Braydn Trybuskiewicz (4g-1a) scored the first goal of the season with an assist by senior David Brassie who recorded seven assists. Haverling answered with three unassited goals (two by Jamie O`Neil who ended the game with a team-leading 3g-3a and the first quarter ended with the Cougars up 3-1.

Aquinas at Livonia-AvonThe teams traded goals, with both teams scoring three and the half ended 6-4 Rams. The third quarter started with a Trybuskiewicz  from Brassie goal taking the game to 6-5 and O`Neil scored on the next faceoff on a feed from Brady Dickson (2g). HF-L scored the next three goals with Trybuskiewicz  adding 2g-1a and Chase Perryman scoring 2g-1a, giving the Cougars an 8-7 lead after three quarters.

The Trybuskiewicz from  Perryman team scored in the first monute of the last quarter, giving HF-L a two goal lead. Broady Baldwin (2g) scored with an assist from Ezra Hoad (1g-1a) at the 9:30 mark to take the score to 9-8. Almost five minutes came off the clock before Mathew Brassie scored on a pass from his brother to give the Cougars a two goal lead and although the Rams scored one more with 11 seconds in the game, the Cougars took the win, [BOX SCORE]

In the second game of the night, Aquinas traveled to Avon where a powerful Livonia-Avon offense scored eight goals on their way to a 19-7 victory. Senior M/A Justin Skelly scored 7g and  senior attackman Derrick Wigley had 4g-2a while junior Jackson McEnerney added 2g-3a for Livonia-Avon. Junior goaltender Matt Beachel made six saves (50%) in 43 minutes and senior goalie Nic Teachout finished the game with 3 saves (75%). [BOX SCORE] A photo gallery is available for this game.
