McQuaid at CanandaiguaIt was all about defense tonight in Canandaigua where the Braves took a 4-1 victory from McQuaid Jesuit and boosted their record to 10-0. The Brave's long stick crew of seniors Jackson Nieman and Teddy Lenz and juniors Eric Platten and Brady Comella worked in close communication and often found double and secondary slides to keep such pressure on the Knights that shots were few and generally far from the goal. As a result, sophomore goalie Jack Faiola only faced five shots and had 4s/1ga (80%). On the other end of the field the defensive four of seniors Luke Pecora and Conor McCool and juniors Hunter Smith and Stanford Smith forced the Canandaigua offense to also shoot from the outside, with many shots going wide. Spin Blazak had 2g, Elliott Morgan and Cam Tallman each had 1g for the Braves. There was no report from McQuaid Jesuit at post time. [BOX SCORE] More images in the gallery.
