Many Mismatches Today, and Hilton Takes Out Fairport

- Thursday: DAY IN REVIEW: There were fourteen games played today and most were mismatches. Of the rest, Hilton, for the first time in program history, beat Fairport 9-8, despite a last quarter surge by the Red Raiders. The Cadets led 4-3 at the half and then scored five goals in the third to end the quarter up 9-4. The offense of Hilton was spread between eight players with Matthew Mojsej leading with 1g-2a. Ben Mitrano, Brenden Howell and Michael Galante each added two goals while Clayton Duford recorded 9s (53%) for Hilton (8-3). Klay Stuver and Colin Peers each had 3g-2 for Fairport (8-2)

Schroeder at VictorGeneva won a hard-fought game at Wayne tonight. Both teams played excellent defense throughout the contest. The Eagles took early leads of 1-0 and 2-1 before Geneva scored a couple for a 3-2 halftime score. In the second half, Nick Askin scored for Geneva to go up 4-2 before Wayne fought back to tie the game at 4-4. Joe Camp for Wayne was able to get the ball on the ground and then control it. Geneva got a broken play goal from Sam Miller to end the 3rd quarter and then Miller scored again with an add on by Aiden Eighmey to make it 7-4. Wayne controlled the ball for much of the end of the game and got a goal from Thompson to make a very exciting ending. Geneva ended with five players evenly contributing to the offensive win while goalie Brandon Wayne made 7s (58) for the Panthers who will take the weekend off. There was no report from Wayne at post-time

Schroeder at VictorBloomfield-Honeoye senior midfielder Alex Roach made the 100 goals club today after scoring four goals in their game with Gananda. His season total is 21g-20a and his career record stands at 103g-56a.

Newark scored four straight goals to start the last quarter and pull to within one goal but could not get closer despite a nearly record-breaking performance by goalie Talyn Pierce who with 23 saves (72%) was one save short of the Newark record. Mynderse won the game 10-6 behind five offensive players on the book, including Owen Lorenzetti who had 4g-2a. Gino Poretta made 10s (63%) for the Blue Devils.

Also winning today were Churchville-Chili, Marcus Whitman, Brighton, Irondequoit, Penfield, Pal-Mac, Victor, HF-L, Pittsford and St. Francis who defeated Aquinas.
