Final Four Set in Class B and D

May 23, 2018 - Wednesday: DAY IN REVIEW: Both B and D brackets were broken today, but the final four are now set for the semi finals on Saturday. In the Class D bracket, #5 Haverling defeated #4 Midlakes 14-9 and #6 Aquinas had upset #3 Pal-Mac 17-5. #2 Gananda beat #10 Bloomfield-Honeoye and #1 Penn Yan beat #9 Waterloo in the other quarters.

On Saturday, Penn Yan will play Haverling at 11:00 and Gananda will play Aquinas at 1:30. Both games will be at Honeoye Falls-Lima.

In the Class B bracket #5 Schroeder defeated $4 Irondequoit 10-7. # 1 Victor beat #9 Churchville-Chili, #2 Thomas beat #7 Brighton and #3 McQuaid Jesuit beat #6 Canandaigua.

On Saturday, Victor will play Schroeder at 11:00 and Thomas will play McQuaid at 1:30. Both games will be at Fairport High School.

NOTES: In the McQuaid vs Canandaigua game, the Vierhile brothers played against each other and their parents had to cheer for both teams. At the end of the game, senior attackman Brian Vierhile with McQuaid was the happy one and his brother Matt finished his season with Canandaigua. The win was the first for the Knights against the Braves in sixteen meetings.
