Wednesday: Pittsford, Victor Move on to the Finals

June 7, 2017 - DAY IN REVIEW: Section Five will have two teams in the Championship round on Saturday as both Pittsford (Class A) and Victor (Class B) earned their tickets today at St. John Fisher College. Pal-Mac (Class C) played in Syracuse and ended their 18-3 season with a loss to Jamesville-DeWitt.

Pittsford dominated the second half and defeated Baldwinsville (Section III) 11-8 to advance to the Class A State Finals. The Panthers will face Ward Melville on Saturday at 10:00 AM at St. John Fisher after they defeated Lakeland-Panas 9-6. Colby Barker led in scoring with 5g-1a for Pittsford and was a force on the field. For the Bees, Matthew Dickman and Peter Fiorini each finished with 2g. STORY CONTINUES

Victor advanced to their third straight State Finals with an 11-5 win over Vestal (Section IV). The Blue Devils are the two-time defending State Champions and are looking for their third straight win. Victor will face Yorktown (Section I).Victor wins The Huskers defeated Garden City 5-4 in double overtime to advance. STORY CONTINUES

Pal-Mac's Joe Lyko scored the first of his three goals early to tie the game at 1-1 before JD scored 13 unanswered goals and extended their lead to 14-1 at the half. The Red Raiders finish their season at 18-3. Jamesville-Dewitt, the defending Class B Champions, move on to play in the Class C Finals against Cold Spring Harbor on Saturday at 3:00 PM.
