Thursday: Victor Over Thomas

- DAY IN REVIEW: In what some were calling a possible Class B final, Victor took an 8-1 half to a 17-3 win against Webster Thomas as nine Blue Devils made the offensive scorebook. Sophomore attackman Andrew Mapstone (6g-4a) figured in on half of HF-L's goals in their win of the Greece Lightning, who saw 2g-2a from sophomore A/M Matt McHale. After tying 2-2 at the end of the first quarter, the Greece Thunder took off in the second and never looked back. Josh Shields led the Thunder with 3g-1a. Waterloo and Marcus Whitman tied twice in their game before the Indians took control in the third quarter. Nick Costantino won 15 face offs and had 4g-1a and Adam Jensen had 2g-5a for Waterloo.

TJ Hendricks (2g-2a) was the scoring leader for Fairport as the defeated Penn Yan. Matt Cronk won 11 of 17 draws for the Red Raiders. Austin Blumbergs led the Mustangs with 2g-2a. Rush-Henrietta fought back from a 2-5 halftime and scored four goals in the fourth quartet, but fell short to Williamsville East (Section VI). TJ Day led the scoring with 1g-2a and Colin Mix recorded 21 saves (75%) for the Royal Comets.

Gananda took a 6-0 lead in the first quarter and went on to win their game against the Pride who scored six of the last eight goals in the game. Gananda goalie Brett Cunningham made ten saves (59%). Patrick Shanley led the Blue Panther offense with 1g-3a and Alex Roach led the Pride offense with 2g-1a. With 1:07 left in the last quarter B-H senior defensemen Jonah Guelzow scored his first goal in his high school career as an attackman on senior night.

Haverling scored four of the last five goals in their 13-12 overtime win over McQuaid Jesuit. The Rams led with 5 minutes left in the game, before McQuaid Jesuit scored their first goal of the fourth quarter to tie the game at 12-12 with 4:54 remaining. The game winning goal was scored by Ethan Harold (unassisted) with 1:27 remaining in the first overtime period. Jonathan Deets (6g-1a) and Connor DiDomineck (3g-4a) led the offense for the rams. Tommy Crocker (4g-3a) led the Knights.

Gates Chili scored two goals in the final minute to secure their first lead since the game opening goal and defeat Eastridge 14-13. The Lancers led for nearly the entire game and had two different five goals leads over the Spartans. Gates Chili scored five of the last six and eight of the last ten goals in the comeback win. The game winning goal was scored by Nicholas Ehmann with 0:11 remaining on the clock. Garrett Kirkpatrick led the offense for the Spartans with 5g-2a. Andrew Doktor led the Lancers with 4g-4a.

Irondequoit held off the late advances by Churchville-Chili to defeat the Saints 14-12. The game was close for the first half, before Irondequoit took off on the back of Jack Brennan. Brennan had 1g-2a in the first half and 6g-1a in the second half. His was part of 7/9 goals in the second half. Jacob Buck who registered his 200th career point in the game, scored 6g-1a to lead the Saints.

Newark took off in the last quarter, scoring six goals, to secure their win over visiting Mynderse. Parker Casselman led the offense with 5g-4a for the Reds.

Also winning games were Pal-Mac, Wayne, Canandaigua.
