
Tuesday: Taylor Clements Wins for Newark
May 2, 2017 - DAY IN REVIEW: Taylor Clements (3g) scored the game winning goal with 1:02 remaining in the game to break an 8-8 tie and give Newark a 9-8 win over host Midlakes. Robert Middlebrook scored 4g for the Eagles. Fairport took a 6-0 first quarter lead and never looked back in their game with Brighton. Jake Santini made eight saves (67%) and Reese Burek led the Red Raider offense with 4g-2a.
Jarrett Kirkpatrick (3g) scored half of the goals in the Gates Chili win over Brockport. Senior goalie Robert Phillips recorded 7s (78%) for the Spartans. In the first half Aquinas and Livonia played a close game, but the Irish scored the last seven goals in the game for the victory. Evan Kelly (2g-3a) and Cam Cecere (2g-2a) led the scoring and Justin LaDuke made 13s (57%) for AQ.
In a closely played game with three ties, Penfield defeated Irondequoit 11-8. Seven players for the Patriots made the offensive scorebook with Peter Schwab (2g-3a), Dan Taddeo (3g-1a) and Joey Barboza (3g) leading the list.
Also winning games were Canandaigua, Eastridge, Spencerport, Spencerport, Pittsford, Geneva, Gananda, Pal-Mac, Wayne and Aquinas.
