Thursday: Victor Streak Now 50 Games
April 20, 2017 - DAY IN REVIEW: Fifty seconds made the difference and allowed Victor to continue its winning streak to fifty. Connor Kennan scored with an assist from Sam Lambert to give Victor a 5-4 win at home this morning. Although the Blue Devils took an early lead, scoring the first three goals, Loyola Academy returned to tie the game at 4-4 in the third quarter. Blue Devil goalie, Chayse Ierlan recorded eleven saves (73%). Loyola Academy (Illinois) goalie Dominic Urukalo also played well, making 13 saves (72%).
Pittsford added another win to take their record to 7-0 after their annual game with Duxbury (Mass) which the Panthers won 7-3. Pittsford led 3-0 at the half and 6-1 after three quarters.
HF-L continued their winning streak (7-0) with their win against Webster Schroeder. Six players from HF-L made the offensive scorebook, led by Garrett Ruff (4g) and Charlie Pluta (1g-3a).
Canandaigua beat Orchard Park (Section VI) 17-11. Devin Andrews scored 5g-5a and Carson Greene added 4g-4a for the Braves (5-2). Joe Post won 14 of 19 face offs and Brandon Moore made 8 saves (62%).
Both the Irondequoit at Aquinas and the Bloomfield-Honeoye at Livonia games were started but had to stop due to storms. Aquinas had about two minutes left in their game (with the Eagles up 7-5) and the Livonia game was stopped with 7:24 left in the third quarter (BH up 5-0).
McQuaid Jesuit defeated Kettle Moraine (WI) 11-10. It was the first loss for the Lasers (8-1).
