Irondequoit Two Late Goals Get Win

- In an MC-D2 league face-off today, Irondequoit edged out Thomas 9-8 in a tightly contested game. Irondequoit jumped to an early lead with freshman Kieran Stenzel securing a hat trick and Dylan Carey contributing two goals and an assist. Cooper Moore added a goal and two assists, while Doug Velepec scored twice. Senior goalie Sven Habitzreuther anchored Irondequoit’s defense with a 62% save rate, recording 13 saves over 48 minutes.

Thomas rallied from a slow start with Brett Mersdorf leading the charge, scoring four goals and providing one assist. Jonah Jobson added three goals, while Brandon Trottier contributed a goal, and Mason Mylott and Jake Nicolay chipped in with assists. Junior goalie Joshua Jobson held firm in goal with a 55% save rate, making 11 saves during the game. Despite a strong third-quarter surge, Thomas was unable to overcome Irondequoit's two last quarter goals by Doug Velepec.
