Canandaigua Pulls Away in Second Half for Win Over Victor

- Victor and Canandaigua were tied three times in their non-league matchup before Canandaigua pulled ahead with a six-goal run in the third quarter. Kyle Saeger opened the scoring for Victor in the first, assisted by Jackson Mead, but Canandaigua answered quickly with a goal from Ryan Bremer. The teams traded goals in the second, with Victor`s Will Johnson and Brody Secker combining for one, keeping the score tied at two apiece at halftime.

Canandaigua took control after the break, scoring five goals in the third quarter, including two from Patrick Olvany and one from Drew Williamee. Victor fought to close the gap in the fourth with goals from Mead, Secker, and Johnson, but Canandaigua maintained their lead, sealing a 9-6 win. Leading scorers for Victor were Saeger (2g-2a), Johnson (2g), Secker (1g-1a), and Mead (1g-1a). Freshman face-off specialist Eli Ricci won 8 of 10 attempts for Victor, and sophomore goalie Will Simpson recorded eleven saves on nine goals allowed for a 55% save percentage.
