Lightning Defeats Thunder 11-10
May 14, 2015 - NOTES: In the first Storm game of the season, Greece Athena/Odyssey defeated Greece Arcadia/Olympia 10-9. Tonight, the Lightning took revenge, defeating the Thunder 11-10. Arc/Oly scored the opening goal of the game and never trailed in the victory. The Thunder tied the game once (4-4) and had the score within a single goal four times, but could not take the lead.
This is only the eighth time that The Lightning has defeated the Thunder with the last time coming last season. Midfielder Matt McHale finished with 3g-3a for the Lightning. He scored three goals on only four shots. Attackman Tyler Dalle added 4g for Arcadia (he scored on all four of his shots). Overall the Lightning scored on 52% of their shots. Greece Ath/Ody, on the other hand, only scored on 26% of their shots. Midfielder Joey Fornataro led with 5g and attackman Josh Shields added 3g.
Thunder controlled the face off draw at 61% between three face-off men. Dylan Wiemer finished at 70% (7/10) and Fornataro finished at 50% (6/12). LSM Kyle Benham (7) and midfielder Cody Hayes (6) led in the ground ball count for the Thunder. Between the pipes, Jason Harter finished with 2 saves.
McHale also led the ground ball count for the Lightning with six. Defenseman Jacob Corcoran and midfielder Xavier Bakari added another five ground balls each. Gavin Catalano finished with 17 saves (63%) for the Lightning.

Victor Takes Home Win Against Brighton 2025-04-07 - Victor secured an 11-5 victory over Brighton in an MC-D2 league game on home turf. The game saw three ties early on, but Victor`s nine-goal streak through the second and third quarters paved the way for their seventh consecutive win against Brighton, improving their record to 2-0. Senior midfielder Brody Secker led Victor with three goals, surpassing his milestone of fifty career goals. Colin Wheeler also recorded three goals, supported by standout performances from Kyle Saeger (two goals, one assist), Jackson Mead, Matthew Herendeen, and Will Johnson, each adding a goal. Sophomore Will Simpson contributed six saves with a 55% save rate over forty-eight minutes in goal.
Brighton (1-2) saw contributions from Ben Marangola with two goals, while Kiki Condon, Tim Tourangeau, and Gavin Parks each scored once. Austin Flaum added an assist. Senior Henry Werzinger excelled in faceoffs, winning eight of ten. However, despite the team`s persistent efforts, Brighton couldn't overcome Victor`s dominant stretch in the middle quarters. Goaltender Logan Serve made ten saves during forty-eight minutes of action.
