Thomas Holds off IQ to Remain Undefeated

- In a game that was dictated by halves, Thomas played a dominating first half to defeat Irondequoit 10-7.  The Titans led 8-1 late in the second quarter and although the Eagles attempted to fight back, the deficit was too large.  They never got the score closer than two goals.  The Titans remain undefeated at 4-0 with their closest matchup of the season.

Thomas dominated the first quarter with five unanswered goals.  All Five goals were scored by different athletes: Jacob Allen, Trevor Ford, Stevie Katz, Matt Hill and Spencer Nuccitelli.  The Titan defense held Irondequoit scoreless for the first 14 minutes of the contest.  Senior Kessel Stefano, who led in scoring with 4g, scored the opening Eagle goal unassisted with 10:06 remaining in the second quarter.  Thomas responded with another three goals.  Nuccitelli added two more and Colin Horan added his first.  With 3:05 remaining in the half, Thomas led 8-1.

Irondequoit added one more goal before halftime with another unassisted goal.  This time scored by Jack Brennan.  In the second half, the Eagles outscored the Titans 5-2.  They scored three unanswered goals of their own (two by Stefano).  The Titans scored a single goal spanning a 20 minute period in the entire third and part of the fourth quarters.  The Eagles pulled within two goals with Stefano’s fourth goal at 8:09 remaining in the fourth quarter.

Irondequoit never got any closer.  Thomas controlled the ball and added another goal with 3:35 remaining.  Horan scored his second for the Titans.  Joe Luconte was 10/18 at the draw for Thomas.
