2017-05-19 -  SPORTSFIVE REPORT:  Victor trailed 5-2 before coming back to a 10-8 win over Fairport to end the regular season.  The Blue Devils finished 13-3 and the Red Raiders finished 12-4. 

Fairport took off the in opening minutes.  Jake Bucci scored the first goal for the Red Raiders 1:36 into the game off a feed from Kyle McAvoy.  Two minutes later and Spencer Bell increased their lead to 2-0.  Victor’s first goal was scored with 7:33 remaining by Joey Pezzimenti.  Each team added one more goal to finish out the first quarter with Fairport leading 3-2.  The Red Raiders started off the second quarter with back to back goals from McAvoy and TJ Hendricks.  With 9:40 remaining in the first half, Fairport led 5-2.  Victor responded with four goals before the end of the half to take their first lead of the game 6-5.

Fairport kept the game close for the third quarter by once again scoring the first two goals of the quarter.  They re-took the lead with 9:28 remaining off an unassisted goal from McAvoy.  Victor responded with the next three goals to go up by two goals early in the fourth.  Zach Estabrooks, Mitchell Cain and Pezzimenti scored for the Blue Devils.  Fairport’s final goal was scored with 8:45 remaining to bring the game within one goal, but they could not force overtime.  Victor added one more insurance goal to finish their scoring (Connor Kennan from Estabrooks).  Victor’s Tucker Hill finished 9/14 at the face off draw.  Defenseman Sutton Boland recorded a team leading five ground balls and went 3/5 at the draw.
