Gates Chili Fights Back in Fourth Quarter for Win

- Gates Chili scored two goals in the final minute to secure their first lead since the game opening goal and defeat Eastridge 14-13.  The Lancers led for nearly the entire game and had two different 5 goals leads over the Spartans.  Gates Chili scored five of the last six and eight of the last ten goals in the comeback win.  The game winning goal was scored by Nicholas Ehmann with 0:11 remaining on the clock.

The Spartans scored the opening goal with Ehmann assisting Jarrett Kirkpatrick.  Eastridge responded with the next three goals.  AJ Kimber scored 2 and Rob Salsbury scored 1.  The Lancers continued to score and increase their lead to 8-3 with 2:42 remaining in the first half.  The Spartans added three more before halftime, but the Lancers still led 9-5 at the break.  After a single goal for Gates Chili, Eastridge scored back to back goals to increase their lead back to 5 goals.  Trailing 6-11, the Spartans started their scoring streak.  They scored six of the next seven to tie the game at 12-12 with 7:46 remaining in the game.  Kyle Fingar (2), Blake Palozzi (2) and Kyle Krystan and Kirkpatrick scored in the streak.

Eastridge re-took their lead with 1:59 remaining on the clock.  Donovan Fagan scored his third goal of the night off a feed from Andrew Doktor.  Doktor led his team in scoring with 4g-4a.  The clock continued to tick before Kirkpatrick scored unassisted to tie the game for the third time at 13-13 with 0:54 remaining on the clock.  Ehmann scored the game winning forty seconds later.  Midfielder Carson Spychala nearly all the face-offs and finished 18/30 with a team leading 16 groundballs.  Peter Guerrieri added another 5 groundballs and 5 takes.
