JD Over Fairport 2016-04-23 - In out of section play, Jamesville-Dewitt (Section III) defeated Fairport 8-5 to remain undefeated this season. This was the first game this season where the Rams were held under 10 points and only the second time they did not defeat their opponents by at least 9. Only three Rams made the scorebook with Griffin Cook and Ryan Archer scoring three goals apiece and Andrew Barclay adding one (one goal was unattributed). Conversely, Fairport had four different scorers with only Reese Burek scoring two goals.
The game was close for three quarters before the Rams took off. They scored five of the last six and the Red Raiders could not keep pace. Fairport led 4-3 at halftime before JD took off. The game was tied 5-5 with 8:45 left in the final quarter before JD scored the final three goals. In the cage for Fairport, Tyler Wetzel finished with 13 saves. |
