Fairport 10 - Rush-Henrietta 8

- NOTES:  Fairport scored the first goal of the game and never trailed in their 10-8 win over Rush-Henrietta. The Royal Comets kept the game close, but only tied Fairport once. They fought back to a one goal game with 5:59 remaining in regulation, but Fairport scored the final goal to increase their lead to two and sat on the ball to secure their victory.

Kyle McAvoy (3g-2a) and Dylan DeLorme (2g-3a) led in scoring for the Red Raiders. Junior goalie Tyler Wetzel finished at 62% (13 saves) to help his team secure an 8-8 regular season record. For the Royal Comets, senior Nick Lenhard was the leading scorer with 2g-2a. Between the pipes, Colin Mix finished at 52% (11 saves).

COMMENT:   It was wonderful to see that when the National Anthem started playing at Rush-Henrietta this afternoon, student-athletes and their coaches in at least three other sports stopped what they were doing and stood at attention. A number of softball players were sitting on the ground and jumped up when they heard the Anthem coming from the speakers on the stadium field. Well done Royal Comets.
