Fairport Beats Thomas in Semis 2014-05-24 -
In a game that was close throughout, Fairport held off the late advances from Webster Thomas to win 8-6. Senior goalie Joey Scalise stepped up big in the game and finished at 65%. He was the one of only two goalies to finish over 50% today and had the highest percentage of the day (excluding Jamie Cullen at Churchville-Chili who played two minutes with one save). In addition to Scalise, Fairport's close defense stepped up as well. Sam Dovan, Jake DeLorme and Allen Thibodeau all had big defensive games for the Red Raiders.
Face-off midfielder Shane Cronkwright finished at 50% (8/16) and added three ground balls for his team. Thibodeau, a sophomore, finished with team leading five ground balls and two takes. DeLorme also added two takes and midfielder Jahadi Prior added four ground balls.
