Gananda Takes First Lead in Final 3 Minutes

- Gananda trailed for nearly the entire contest before scoring the final goal of the game to defeat Newark 6-5.  The Blue Panthers scored tied the game for the fourth time with 4:13 left on the clock with Logan Chasey assisting AJ Golden.  Two minutes later with 2:30 remaining, Joel Bean scored off a feed from Golden to give Gananda their first lead.  They were able to hold off the Reds offense for the final two minutes to secure the victory.

Newark started off the game strong and scored the only goal of the opening quarter.  Henry Huynh scored unassisted with 7:24 left on the clock.  They Reds held the 1-0 lead throughout the rest of the first quarter and into the first three minutes of the second quarter.  The first Blue Panther goal was scored 15:02 into play with Bean scoring unassisted.  Newark responded with another goal before the half (Brandon McNeil unassisted).

The Reds increased their lead to 3-1 with the opening goal of the second half.  Huynh scored his second of three goals on the night 0:40 into play.  Leading 3-1, the Reds led by more than one for the only time during the entire game.  Gananda responded with the next two goals tie force the second tie (3-3) going into the final quarter.

In the fourth, every time that Newark pulled ahead, Gananda forced the tie until the Blue Panthers scored the game winning goal late in the quarter.  In the cage for Newark, Talyn Pierce recorded 15 saves (71%).

B-H Scores Final Three to Win

- In a game of streaks, Bloomfield-Honeoye scored the final three goals of the game to defeat Eastridge 12-10.  The Pride, had both trailed by three and led by three at different points in the game.  In the second half, the game was much closer with three ties coming in the final 18 minutes.

Eastridge started off the game strong with three unanswered goals.  Justyn Hiscock scored twice with Vincent Fagan scoring the third.  The Lancer’s largest lead of the game was with 5:51 remaining at 3-0.  Bloomfield-Honeoye responded with four goals to end the quarte and another 2 to begin the second quarter.  After a six goal stretch, the Pride led 6-3 with 4:12 left in the half.  Eastridge scored the final two to pull within one (6-5) going into halftime.

In the third quarter, Eastridge scored first to tie the game for the second time.  Brandon Lappetito scored off a feed from Hiscock.  The Pride responded with two of their own to go back on top.  Devin Campbell (assisted by George Willix) and Dominic Pezzimenti (assisted by Campbell) scored for the Pride.  Eastridge, not wanted to give up, scoring four of the next five to take their first lead since 3-2 early in the first.  Trevor Schmidt (2), Hiscock and Noah Ellis scored for the Lancers (with Willix scoring the lone Pride goal).  The third quarter ended with Eastridge leading 10-9.

In the fourth quarter, Bloomfield-Honeoye added the final three goals (unanswered) to secure the iwn.  The Pride held the Lancers scoreless for the final 12:30.  Max Williz scored two of the final three goals with Farrell scoring the third.  In the cage for the Pride, Owen Saxby recorded 15 saves.  For Eastridge, Foster Valle finished  at 50% with 12 recorded saves.

Thomas Holds Off Wayne

- Thomas and Wayne played the conclusion of their match from April 16th today with the Titans winning 9-6.  Thomas scored five of the first seven goals to take an early lead that the Eagles could not fight back against.  This was only the second loss of the year for Wayne and first non-overtime loss.  With tonight’s win the Titans break a three game win-less streak, including an overtime loss to Fairport last week.

Thomas led 5-2 with 2:57 left in the first half after their early scoring runs.  Joe Russo scored three of the first five goals with David Petz scoring the other two.  Wayne fought back with two more goals before the half to keep the game within one going into the break (5-4). 

In the second half quarter, Thomas outscored Wayne 2-1 in both quarters.  In the third, scoring came from Russo and Nathan Hoban.  The lone Eagles goal was scored by John Reagan.  In the fourth, Hoban and Reed Currie scored for the titans with Joe Camp scoring the lone Wayne goal.
