Section V Boys Lacrosse Coordinator Mike Simon in conjunction with the Canandaigua National Bank are, once again, sponsoring recognition of noteworthy performances throughout the season. For our first group we have two juniors who had noteworthy performances since the start of the season. Full Story

Tuesday: Three Wins in OT - CA, Fpt and EU/E

DAY IN REVIEW: TUESDAY - There were eight games played today and three were won in overtime.  Junior A/M Sam Pucci (1g-1a) scored the game-winner for Fairport, East United/Eastridge won their game in overtime, and junior attackman Sean Olvany (5g) scored the unassisted game winner For Canandaigua. Thursday: Penfield Beats Irondequoit in OT, Fairport over WG

DAY IN REVIEW: THURSDAY - There were five games played today and two were very exciting ones. Penfield came from behind to win their game with Irondequoit in overtime and Fairport used three goals in the last stanza to defeat West Genesee. Hilton was a winner over visiting Wayne and Schroeder and Pittsford lost to Section III team. Full Story

Friday: Penn Yan Falls in OT

DAY IN REVIEW: FRIDAY - In the single game played today, Penn Yan overcame a two-goal deficit to tie the game with Westhill in regulation. Westhill's Luke Gilmartin scored the game winner with 0:28 left in the second overtime period. Full Story

DAY IN REVIEW: TUESDAY - Fairport Head Coach Mike Torrelli won his 250th game today as the Red Raiders posted a 7-5 win over visiting Thomas. Brighton won a close one at Irondequoit and East-United won a close one at Brockport. HF-L won a close one at Schroeder and Canandaigua won their game against Spencerport. Full Story

DAY IN REVIEW: WEDNESDAY - There were two games played today. Loyola Academy was at McQuaid Jesuit where they defeated the Knights 5-3. In the Finger Lakes, Gananda traveled to Bloomfield where they defeated the Pride 12-8. Full Story

Thursday: CA comes from Behind for Win

DAY IN REVIEW: THURSDAY - Canandaigua came from behind and won their game with Irondequoit by a single goal. Waterloo scored three goals in the third to help win their 6-5 game with Midlakes-Red Jacket. Hilton on a winning streak took out Fairport 9-4, and Penn Yan fought off a charge by Geneva in their 7-5 win at home. Full Story

DAY IN REVIEW: SATURDAY - Tere were a dozen games played today and most were mismatches, Canandaigua beat Penn Yan by a single goal and Victor beat Niskayuna 15-7. West Genesee edged out Penfield by one goa (13-12) and Mynderse posted a shutout at Waterloo. Other local winners were Irondequoit, Pal-Mac, Schroeder, Fairport, Geneva, Spencerport, and Marcus Whitman. Full Story

DAY IN REVIEW: MONDAY - HF-L is off to a great start at 5-0 after their win against East Aurora (Section VI). Chase Perryman scored his 100th goal in the game. Gananda controlled their game with Bishop Kearney who had their season opener. Full Story

DAY IN REVIEW: TUESDAY - Although the majority of games ended in mismatches, there were a couple of exciting games. Topping the list is Canandaigua's 4-3 win at Brighton where neither team scored in the second half. Pittsford took an early lead and then never gave it up in the 8-6 win over visiting Irondequoit and Spencerport held Fairport scoreless in two quarters in their 7-3 win at home. Penfield scored four unanswered goals in the first quarter and then coasted to their 11-7 win over visiting Schroeder. Full Story

DAY IN REVIEW: WEDNESDAY -  The Blue Panthers took the first quarter 2-0 and led at the half 3-1. Full Story

Thursday: Gates Chili Wins in 3 Overtimes

DAY IN REVIEW: THURSDAY - There was only one close game out of the twelve played today and Gates Chili used three overtime periods to get their first win of the season, Canandaigua handed Orchard Park their first loss of the season with their 12-6 win. Aquinas was a winner at Schroeder and Marcus Whitman had a win when they played Newark. Full Story

There forty-five games played last week. There are seventy-four out of section games scheduled and 39 have been played. Section V teams have won twenty-three and lost sixteen (59%). There are still two teams that are undefeated at this point and they will play each other on Tuesday: Canandaigua (8-0) and HF-L (6-0). Full Story

Tuesday: R-H Wins in OT, CA Wins by One

DAY IN REVIEW: TUESDAY - Once again, there were many mismatches, but there were also some really good games. In the game of the last two unbeaten teams, Canandaigua (9-0) was the last team standing but the Cougars had a strong second half at both ends of the field. Senior A/M Jett Richardsen scored the overtime, game-winning goal for the Royal Comets in this game that could not have been closer with eight ties. Greece took an early lead and held on for their one goal win. Full Story

DAY IN REVIEW: THURSDAY - Out of the fourteen games played today, ten were mismatches. The others include a come from behind win for Mynderse in their game with Newark. Pittsford had an 8-2 win over Thomas and Schroeder beat Hilton 10-6. DAY IN REVIEW: SATURDAY - The last remaining undefeated team fell today as Canandaigua lost to Baldwinsville today. Penn Yan had a good one-goal win against Carthage, Penfield used overtime to beat Orchard Park, and Gananda had a won-goal win against Gates Chili. In another statement game, Victor posted a 14-8 win over Don Bosco Prep (NJ). Full Story
