Players of the Week - Group 4

Section V Boys Lacrosse Coordinator Mike Simon in conjunction with the Canandaigua National Bank are, once again, sponsoring recognition of noteworthy performances throughout the season.

In our fourth group we have two seniors who have had noteworthy performances in the last week.

Offensive Player of the Week

Sean OlvanyEthan Aust - Penfield Attackman

Ethan Aust is the team leader in goals and points. Last week he scored three of the six goals in the 6-1 win against Spencerport and scored four out of seven goals in the Patriot 7-3 win against the Greece Storm during which, he scored his 100th career goal. He has forty goals this season and has scored points in every game.

Head Coach John Schembri says, "Ethan is an excellent finisher and he is tenacious at riding.  He was also voted as one of the captains of the team by his peers.  I could not ask for a better young man to serve as a role model for our program. "

Defensive Player of the Week

Peyton LichDrew Angelo - HFL Faceoff Midfielder

Drew Angelo is one of the top faceoff specialists in the section and has been instrumental in getting the Cougars a large amount of ball time for their high-powered offensive unit. In their two games last week, Drew had twenty-one wins (78%) and an assist in their 17-10 win against Schroeder and twenty wins (100%) and two goals in their win against the Lakers. The Syracuse bound senior reached his 1,000th faceoff win in the Livonia-Avon game.

Head Coach Eric Goodberlet says, “Drew brings a high level of focus and intensity to every practice and game. His work ethic and desire to win every aspect of every game is contagious and makes his teammates better. His 1000th career face-off win accomplishment is a testament to his long term commitment to excellence.”
