Penn Yan Wins 20th Sectional Championship
May 27, 2015 - SPORTSFIVE REPORT: Penn Yan came out strong with a 9-0 start before defeating Aquinas 12-2. The Mustangs win gave them their 20th Section Five title. Midfielder Austin Fingar finished the game with 3g-2a and was named Class C All Tournament MVP. The attack from Penn Yan finished with 7g-2a between them and were all named to the All-Tournament Team, Sean Emerson, Craig Gerhardt and Tate Stewart.

quinas` Nick Tschetter was a part of both goals with 1g-1a. He was joined by defenseman Tyler Olbrich and midfielder Terrance Richards in being named to the All-Tournament team for the Little Irish. Eddie Giblin scored the second goal for Aquinas. Richard finished at 67% at the face off draw and led his team with seven ground balls. In the cage, Tony Deleo finished with 10 saves for the Little Irish.
For the Mustangs, Gage Ponsetti played the majority of the game and recorded six saves (75%). Landon Drake played the final one minute of the contest but did not face a shot. Fingar led with seven ground balls. Defenseman Jake Covert finished with seven and was named to the All- Tournament Team.
Rounding out the All-Tournament Team were: From the Semi-Finals, Newark's Andrew Garrett, Penn Yan defenseman Tanner Irwin and goalie Gage Ponsetti.
