Penfield Takes Canandaigua

NOTES: Penfield took the lead with 5:48 remaining in the first quarter and never trailed again in their 11-9 win over Canandaigua. Although the Braves opened the scoring, Penfield scored the next four goals to lead 4-1 after the first quarter. Canandaigua moved within a single goal twice, but never re-tied the game. This is the first time that Penfield has defeated Canandaigua since 2012.

Devin Andrews, who finished with 5g for the Braves, scored the first goal 90 seconds into the contest. Penfield tied the game 0:34 later with Matthew Schoeneck scoring with an assist from Brandon Buss. Schoeneck finished at 4g-1a to lead the Patriots. The four unanswered goals to end the first quarter were the major difference, as most of the remaining game was the two teams trading goals. In the cage for Penfield, Erik Smisloff finished with eight recorded saves. Brandon Moore finished with 10 saves for the Braves.
