Thomas Has Overtime Win vs CA

NOTES: Thomas never led for a single second in their 9-8 overtime win over Canandaigua. Scoring when it was most important, they took their only lead with a sudden victory goal from Travis Ford with 2:11 left in the first overtime period. The Titans scored six of the last seven goals. Trevor and Travis Ford were major players in the contest with Travis scoring 2g (including the game winner) and Trevor scoring 5g.

Canandaigua was strong in the early game, leading 3-1 with 5:15 remaining in the first quarter. Junior face off midfielder Joe Post won 14 of 19 face offs for the Braves. Devin Andrews scored two of his five 5 goals in the first three. Thomas added one more goal before the quarter ended and Canandaigua led 3-2 after twelve minutes. The Braves scored again 0:56 into the second quarter with another goal from Andrews. Travis scored his first goal with 3:09 remaining in the half to bring the game within one again. Canandaigua didn`t let the short time stop them and they added two goals in the last 90 seconds. The second was scored as time expired with an unassisted goal from Andrews. The Braves led 6-3 at the half.

Canandaigua started the quarter with another goal to give them their largest lead of the game (7-3). Thomas, not willing to give up, scored four unanswered goals. All four goals were scored by Trevor Ford with assists from Matt Hill, Brad Smith and Pierce Currie. The game was tied 7-7 with 9:33 remaining in regulation. Canandaigua pulled head for the third time with another goal with 4:16 remaining.

Thomas scored the game tying goal with 1:30 left with Nick Mabe assisting Hill. The Braves won the ensuing face off and had two attempts at the cage, but could not take back the lead. In overtime, the Braves won another face-off first the first try at the cage but Matt Yonko came up with a big save to stay in the game. The Titans cleared the ball and Travis Ford scored his second goal of the game with a drive down the middle.
