Victor, Churchville-Chili and Penn Yan Take Top Seeds

- The 2016 tournaments have been seeded and the schedules are set. VICTOR (Class A) with a record of 16-0 is the top of Class A and will defend their 2015 Championship (in Class B). PITTSFORD, PENFIELD and FAIRPORT took positions two, three and four. All nine teams play with Rush-Henrietta at Hilton playing in an out bracket game on Saturday. Churchville-Chili celebrated their first undefeated regular season with their win over Eastridge on Wednesday. At 16-0 they are the top seed in Class B where there are eleven teams that will play this year. The Saints along with THOMAS (second), IRONDEQUOIT (third), CANANDAIGUA (fourth) and HF-L (fifth) will get byes on Monday and will start their tournament performances on Wednesday. The top twelve teams will play in the Class C tournament where the top seed is, once again, Penn Yan. WAYNE is the second seed, AQUINAS is the third and GANANDA is (4th). Pal-Mac (5th), Haverling (6th), Geneva (7th) and Mynderse (8th) will be the home teams when the out bracket games are played on Monday. Penn Yan has won twenty Section Five Championships. It is a full week of games. There will be one Class A game on Saturday, with the winner playing Victor on Tuesday. Class A will play quarters on Tuesday and semifinals on Friday. Classes B and C will play on Monday and Wednesday and then play the semifinals on Saturday. Championship Day this year is at St. John Fisher College and on both Tuesday, May 31st (Class A) and Wednesday, June 1st (Classes B and C).
